The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Associates

Join Us!

The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, a community in Christ founded by Blessed Frances Schervier, is dedicated to the service of God's people in a community of love: living the life of the gospel in the Franciscan Spirit through personal union with Christ. Associates of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor are men and woman, married and single, and of different faiths. They express this mission through partnering with the Sisters to deliver care to the poor and the needy with compassion and love: each according to his or her gifts. They join togeher in community for celebrations, picnics and prayers. They have chosen to live out their baptismal commitment by sharing in the sister's charismand mission. There are Associates in various countries who serve in a variety of ways. Some serve directly with the Sisters in ministry, while others carry our healing charism into the world in a variety of ways, as the Lord calls them.

From June 9 to 11th 2011, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor hosted an International Conference on Healing at the Cenennial Barn in Cincinnati, Ohio. Associates from the United States as well as other countries also were invited to attend. For complete coverage in pictures and video, as well as transcripts/videos of major speakers, click here.
